socialshizzle

About

socialshizzle is an early-stage, privacy-focused social site made by Dre, a place to keep in touch with friends without being tracked, profiled or advertised at.

Why it exists

The idea is simple: people shouldn't have to give up their privacy to talk to their friends. If you're leaving Facebook, you shouldn't have to lose the people you know, so the plan is to let you arrive with the account you already have, with far less taken from it.

How it is more privacy-focused

Full detail, including exactly what is and isn't saved, is on the privacy page. These are promises for this early preview; as a brand new project it has not been independently audited, and it would be wrong to claim otherwise.

History: where the idea came from

  1. Roughly 10 to 20 years ago: Dre first tried building a replacement for Facebook. It didn't get far then. (Exact year not recorded; to be filled in.)
  2. 2 November 2026, about 22:10: the idea got another go. Within the hour it had a working title, a domain and this first page.
  3. The spark: a piece of text Dre pasted in as the starting point for the idea. That text did not come through when this page was built, so this section is a placeholder. Once it's sent, it'll be added here.

Names the project has been considered under, none final: BookFace (the family-friendly candidate), OiOi, DreSpace and FaceSpace. The working title is socialshizzle, and the address will probably get shorter later.

Who made it

Made by Dre with help from an AI coding assistant. It is a one-person project under the Darklabs banner. Beyond that, little is claimed here: if something isn't known, this page doesn't pretend.

An adults-only sibling?

On the long-term roadmap, one idea is a separate, clearly-labelled 18+ version with age checks, kept completely apart from the family-friendly site. It is only an idea; nothing is built and nothing adult will ever appear here.
